Last Wednesday, June 30, 2021, the KSI community gathered virtually to participate in the weekly film forum on the movie Solomon & Gaenor.
Synopsis:
Rural Wales in 1911 is not a pleasant place to live. Coal dust floats everywhere and stains both the landscape and the miners who are on strike for better living conditions. It is against this backdrop of racial tension and labor unrest that the moving and passionate story of illicit love develops between a young traveling salesman who hides his Jewish origin and a young Welsh woman from a puritanical, strictly religious family. The couple fall madly in love, but their relationship seems to have no future. The community in which they live, outraged, conspires to destroy their fragile happiness.
