As every week, the congregation met virtually last Thursday, April 8, 2021, to participate in a new edition of the film forum. On this occasion we talked about the miniseries QB VII.
Synopsis:
After the occupation of Poland by the Germans (1939), Kelno, a Polish doctor, is forced to collaborate with the Nazis in experiments on Jewish prisoners. At the end of the war, Kelno settles in England, where he raises a family and leads humanitarian missions, thanks to which he receives a knighthood.
Meanwhile, Abe Cady, a writer and screenwriter, researching the horrors of war, learns that surviving Jews remember Kelno as a sadist who enjoyed the suffering of his victims. When Cady mentions these facts in his latest book, Kelno sues him for libel and gets him prosecuted.
Next week’s film forum will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021, and will be on the film Crossing Delancy.
