KSI commemorated Yom Hashoah Vehagvurah with virtual event

 
For the second year in a row, the KSI community came together virtually to commemorate Yom Hashoah Vehagvurahthe Holocaust Remembrance and Heroism Day.

The event began with the presentation on screen of the names of the relatives of KSI members who were murdered during the Shoah.

Rabbi Gustavo then spoke about the importance of this day which, unlike January 27, which was established by the United Nations (UN) as the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust, the 27th of Nisan (Yom Hashoah) also commemorates the bravery of the Ghetto uprising. International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust, the 27th of Nisan(Yom Hashoah) also commemorates the bravery of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, which took place on the same day in 1943.

For her part, the morá Nurit shared her talent with us through some symbolic songs of the Shoah, transmitting all the emotionality of this terrible chapter of history.

The main focus of the activity was the transmission of the first part of the interview conducted by the Shoah Foundation to Marianne Granat z¨l, who was the wife of the rabbi of our congregation, Alexander Granat z¨l. You can watch the video here:  https://youtu.be/AVhknCD5tPc
