KSI prepares for Pesach 5781

The KSI community gathered virtually last Monday, March 1, to participate in the Preparing for Pesach class , led by Rabbi Gustavo.

On this occasion, the Rabbi presented the biblical texts that give rise to the celebration, framing the aspects of Pesach such as the offering on the night of the full moon of the month of Abib and Chag Hamatzot, the feast of unleavened bread.

Afterwards, Rabbi Gustavo talked about the generalities of this chag, such as the duration, the starting date and the different names of the festivity.

The morá Nurit sang some of the most significant songs, such as Ha Lachmá Aniá and the Ma Nishtaná, even in some versions with not so well known music, and explained the meaning of these texts.

Finally, Rabbi Gustavo spoke about what is Chametz, the precept of not having it during Pesach and the need to gradually reduce the amount of Chametz in order to reach the holiday without having it in our homes.

The second part of this Pesach preparation class will be held next Monday, March 8, 2021.
