Last Thursday, August 19, 21, the annual Assembly of the congregation was held, where our president Joshua Henriquez, together with Rabbi Gustavo and the treasurer Elias Altalef, presented the activities and Financial Statements for the fiscal year July 2020 to June 2021.
The following are the main topics discussed:
Financial Statements:
- There was a 20% increase in assets over the previous year, a 30% decrease in liabilities and a 4% increase in net assets.
- A positive result similar to the previous year was maintained, despite the implications of COVID-19.
- COVID-19 generated 21 membership leaves, 12 withdrawals due to moving abroad and the non-conduct of classes and activities such as Judaism 101, makhaneh and Mosaic.
- Regarding the operational-financial actions carried out, we can highlight the following:
- Migrated from Peachtree accounting system to QuickBooks.
- The firm of external auditors was changed.
- Investments of $145,259 were made (mainly in air conditioners).
- The perimeter wall was evaluated with a geological report.
- The fiscal year budget was 100% met.
- Work was done on the arrangement of contracts for the Jardín de Paz cemetery plots.
- Repairs and preventive maintenance were made on the roof of the main lobby.
- The entrance traffic circle was renovated and cleaned.
- The perimeter wall and pavers were repaired and cleaned.
- The Monte Esperanza cemetery in Colón was cleaned and repaired.
As every year, the nomination of the Board of Directors was pronounced, having been defined as follows:

The meeting also welcomed the new members and a moment of silence was observed for the deceased.
