KSI members and friends enjoyed tour of Panama Viejo

Last Sunday, August 22, 2021, on a beautiful sunny morning, members and friends of Kol Shearith had the opportunity to learn about the history of Panama la Vieja, the first city founded by the Spanish on the Pacific coast in 1519, its inhabitants, and its subsequent destruction and abandonment in 1671.

Guided by a renowned archaeologist, who worked on several excavations at the site, they heard firsthand his anecdotes about everything they discovered. They also learned about the history of the pre-Hispanic inhabitants who lived there, their culture, their art, and their burial customs.
