“Five questions about tefillah” answered about when we pray.

Last Tuesday, May 4, 2021, the second class of the mini-course Five questions about tefillah (prayers), co-led by Rabbi Gustavo and Morah Nurit, was held.

On this occasion, the purpose of the session was to answer the question “ When do we pray? In this sense, Rabbi Gustavo talked with the attendees about the times of prayer, how the custom of praying three times a day originated, the different explanations given by the tradition in this regard and the additional prayers: the Musaf prayer, which is added to Shabbat and holidays, and the Neilah prayer, which is added on Yom Kippur, the only day we pray five times.

For her part, Morah Nurit was in charge of explaining the Amidah -alsoknown as Shemoneh Esrei- the central prayer of the Jewish liturgy, which is found in the Siddur.
