Bar Mitzvah: Ilay Waintraub

This coming Monday 15th, young Ilay Waintraub, son of Adrian and Carolina, will be called to the Torah for the first time, thus assuming his adult status in the Jewish people.
We share some of Ilay ‘s reflections on his parashah and this very special ceremony for him:
The Jewish tradition calls these offerings Korbanot, Korban in singular that seems to come from the word Karob (to be close) implies that we approach God by giving Him the best of ourselves, our best pure offerings, just as the Cohanim did in the temple.
Giving offerings, as our best, purifies us and brings us closer to God. Offering my time and dedication in this stage from child to adult and giving my best to please God is an opportunity to start in Torah study.
My responsibility as a Bar Mitzvah is to offer my best “korbanot” my best offerings of time, dedication and commitment in approaching and giving the best of me to please God.
Mazal Tov to Ilay and his entire family
