Clases de inglés a niños de una escuela pública en El Chorrillo
I helped out at a school called Manuel José Hurtado. I was teaching 4th graders how to speak English.
I taught them how to say numbers, colors, the alphabet, the time, planets, days of the week, and months of the year in English.
Then we played a game where everyone said their name, age, and our birthday in English and everyone tried their best; the winners got chocolates.
The teacher complimented my work and thanked me for helping, which made the day extra rewarding.
Helping underprivileged kids living so close, and yet living so very differently, makes me think how lucky I am to have been born a member of our community – and how important it is to help those less fortunate.
