Last Wednesday, October 6, the KSI community gathered virtually to discuss the Israeli film Gett: The Trial of Viviane Amsalem.
Synopsis:
Viviane Amsalem, separated for years from her husband Elisha, wants to get a divorce so as not to become a social outcast. In Israel, civil marriage does not yet exist; according to religious law, only the husband can grant a divorce. However, Elisha refuses to do so. Viviane will have to fight before the Rabbinical Court to obtain what she considers a right. Thus, she will be immersed in a multi-year process in which tragedy will compete with absurdity and absolutely everything will be called into question.
The next film forum will be held virtually on Wednesday, October 13, and will be about Quentin Tarantino’s film, Inglorious Basterds.
