The Jevra Kadisha (literally the “sacred society“) is the group of volunteers, both men and women, responsible for preparing the body of a deceased person for burial according to the provisions of Jewish tradition.
Its members are the ones who carry out the Tahara or purification, which includes the cleansing of the body and its clothing with the shrouds (tajrijim).
In addition, we have volunteers who perform the ShmirahWe also have another group that coordinates and supports the logistics of the family at home during the initial period of mourning.
