Last Sunday, October 24, a group of KSI members and friends enjoyed a guided tour of the Interoceanic Canal Museum, located in Casco Antiguo.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The museum building, located in the Cathedral Square, has been witness to countless venues: it was the site of the Grand H\u00f4tel, which was later bought by Count Ferdinand de Lesseps to install the offices of the Universal Company of the Interoceanic Canal, without forgetting that it also served as the site of the Post and Telegraphs. However, it was not until 1997 that the Interoceanic Canal Museum officially opened its doors. <\/p>\n

The group of visitors toured the exhibition halls, delving into the history of the transfer of the Canal between the United States and Panama, learning details about the Torrijos-Carter treaty and even discovering what happened to the flag that was mistreated on January 9, 1964, Martyrs’ Day.<\/p>\n
